Reading is like... Planting a plant!

Every thing in life has a moment and in order to get a good result we need to do some things before it. Reading is not the exception of the rule! What did you think? That it was only start reading and your brain will get it all perfectly? Mmm I am sorry to tell you that it is not always like that so, if we want to be sure of having a good reading, we need to follow some moments in a specific order.

The first moment in planting a plant is when we make sure if we have every element we need as a flower pot, a water can, soil, the garden shovel and obviously, the plant... which means that we need to take a look at how is the text conformed if it has pictures, big titles, strange words or written in codes.

Moment 2 consists of start digging enough to put the plant in. During this process, after predicting how was the text formed, we get a closer view to it, i.e what it might be about, detecting semantic field, finding out similar words to L1, unknown words, etc. It also represents the skimming skill.

The third moment is about digging deeper and planting the plant what represents the scannig part: paragraph by paragraph, looking for specific info, getting the main idea of the text.

Finally, we reach to the forth moment that is to fix and water the plant. The idea of this part is to reflect on and make personal what we have read.
